Our parent company, Acme Engineering Inc., was founded in Napa, California in 2001 by Jon Terry. With years of engineering experience, Jon became interested in finding a way to advance irrigation systems further. After coming across WiseConn Engineering's products in 2017, he found what he needed to simplify and streamline irrigation. Drop Point Automation launched soon after.

As the President of Drop Point Automation (DPA), Jon is committed to bringing quality automation irrigation systems to Wine Country.
After graduating from Cal Poly State University, Jon started his career working in water. Over the last 25 years, Jon has worked on water systems all over California, the United States, and even as far as Costa Rica! He began experimenting with vineyard automation in 2008, but was searching for hardware that stood up to his concepts. With his experience in automation and water system design, he is both extremely knowledgeable and uniquely qualified to combine agriculture and automation services. Jon is determined to provide a reliable, long-term solution for all irrigation needs. Jon enjoys spending his spare time with his family or outdoors hiking, hunting or fishing. Often times, you can find him with his sidekick Cooper, a Labrador Retriever mix. |
Kelsey Terry,

Kelsey is our Automation Specialist who functions as Lead Technician for all automation installations, from start to finish.
Responsible for the initial site visit and field review, Kelsey builds estimates and advises the simplest, most effective automation system for each client's needs. She readies system hardware and programs site-specific software configurations. Then, she jumps into field installation. After quality control testing, she releases the system to the client. She is a detail-oriented individual who provides critical, creative, and out-of-the-box thinking required for automation installations. When off the clock, Kelsey volunteers for a local non-profit organization, Napa County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team. As a University of Montana graduate, she also frequents the outdoors, favoring explorations with her Catahoula Leopard dog, Koda. |
Liz Martinez,

Liz operates as our DropControl Training Expert, helping system users familiarize themselves with their new automation system.
To get started, Liz learns the ins and outs of every installation to educate each client on how to take advantage of their automation system. After identifying all site-specific features and alert opportunities, she schedules a DropControl training with the client in either English or Spanish, in house or on site. Liz knows how to break the ice when it comes to someone learning a new program. Her DropControl knowledge, positive attitude, and light-hearted, relaxed style leads to a stress-free learning experience. She crafts comfortable, confident DropControl users in no time and is available anytime for DropControl questions. When she's not traveling internationally, Liz can be found outside working her goats and sheep with a smile. She also always makes sure to have designated family time every weekend. |
Since starting in 2018, Drop Point Automation has installed automation systems in Napa and Sonoma Counties. Across varying crops, we've done installations for vineyards, insectaries, olive farms, trufficultures, and apple orchards. Our team looks forward to bringing more technology to the water systems around Wine Country. As a subsidiary of Acme Engineering Inc., we are very comfortable moving and managing water.
